One of my reasons for moving to the Lowcountry is my love of the beach, the ocean, and, most of all, walking the beach. We are so fortunate to be in such close proximity to so many wonderful shorelines.

My career as an artist began by turning unusual pieces of wood into artwork. Every piece was unique. I spent many years creating one-of-a-kind wood objects from wood collected from all over this country and around the world. Whether I was creating a piece of furniture, wall hangings or Intarsia creations, I was always motivated by the actual piece of wood with which I was working. Then, I discovered the art of stained glass and my vision for my current work began to take form.

I walked the beaches of the Low Country collecting driftwood. I would stare at a piece for weeks on end, thinking about what it might become. Then I discovered a talent for working with glass and my true vision became actualized. I now utilize the natural beauty and form of driftwood found on the beach and combine it with stained glass. My work has since evolved into pieces that are whimsical, unusual, thought-provoking, inspirational, and, most of all, fun.

My pieces combine sailboats, lighthouses, and anything else that can make you smile. From musical motifs to one-of-a-kind glass candle holders, I enjoy creating pieces that are unexpected and bring a little joy to the people who see them.

Before I show a piece to anyone, it must first get an “Ohh,” “Aah,” or “I love it” from my wife and friends.
