Pastels and Watercolor
After a long career in the corporate world Wendy embarked upon a journey to explore the world of artistic expression. She attended Kutztown University of PA to earn a B.A. in Fine Arts, where she learned the fundamentals of composition, color theory and painting techniques.
She enjoys painting landscapes and scenes from nature in the low country as well as images gathered during her travels. She is fascinated by translating the same image in a variety of media to capture the uniqueness of each material. Currently she is concentrating her work in pastels but also works in watercolor, pen and ink and mixed media. She draws inspiration from masters like Winslow Homer and John Singer Sargent but also looks to contemporary artists like Joseph Raffael and Mary Whyte for inspiration.
Wendy’s work has been shown in Pennsylvania at the Allentown Art Museum, the Bethlehem Banana Factory, the Kemmerer Museum, Siegel Gallery of Lehigh University, Historic Bethlehem Museums and Sites and venues throughout the Lehigh Valley Her work is also featured by the Art League of Hilton Head at the Greer Gallery at the Coastal Arts Center, and the Sea Pines Community Gallery.
